Sarah Gilmour

Sarah (she/her) is a Registered Clinical psychologist who works in Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai (Lower Hutt). Sarah has a holistic approach to psychology utilising the principles of Te Whare Tapa Whā in all areas of her practice.  Sarah works though a trauma-informed mindset predominately using Schema Therapy, EMDR and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Sarah trained as a psychologist after working as a registered nurse for more than 16 years giving her a greater understanding of the interrelationship between physical health and mental wellbeing.

Sarah is a parent and understands the challenges of parenting young children and teenagers. She has a special interest in perinatal mental health and birth trauma and currently works for a perinatal mental health service in Wellington. Sarah has worked in Correctional facilities and with individuals with trauma, anxiety, depression and OCD. 

 

Sarah loves spending time with her whānau, swimming, walking her dog on the beach and playing board games.
